Polycarbonate is the way to go!Feb 02, 2006
By Tammy McArdle These polycarbonate glasses are terrific! What the manufacturer says is true: They really don't break and they don't show wear from the dishwasher. I suppose if you tried jumping up and down on one or ran over it with a steam roller, it make break. But these glasses have survived my three kids, and that's a pretty big feat. And they look great. Just like glass. You might think it's made of glass until you pick it up. A great product for people with kids, or for use in your RV, on your boat, out on the patio, by the pool, etc.

Johnny-proofJul 08, 2007

I just today threw away one of four of these tumblers I bought two years ago. While I avoided hitting it with a steamroller, I regularly microwave coffee in this glass, drop it, wash it in the lower-rack of my dishwasher, and otherwise fail to treat it with the care and dignity it deserves. It has nevertheless served well, it's toddler-proof (mine have been thrown at me repeatedly), and looks gorgeous even with a couple years' worth of cracks. It has out-lived numerous other "unbreakable" glasses by a factor of four or more. I am buying some replacements forthwith.

Price is for 1 tumblerJun 06, 2011
By Deborah Dell Product description is misleading as it states the item is plural. "These Classic 14 oz. Unbreakable Polycarbonate Plastic Tumblers" I would not have purchased one plastic tumbler for $8.48! I was under the impression that I was receiving a set of 4. Glass is nice, just disappointed in the cost!

Lovely & Practical, but marred by Immortal GlueFeb 01, 2010
By Wendy Tobler These are beautiful glasses. The sides are thinner than some I've had in the past, but the bottoms are thick and the entire piece is clear as glass. However! I'm giving them only 4 stars because that glass-like beauty is spoiled by the glue beneath the two labels. Nothing I tried (hot sudsy water, glass cleaner, even Goo Gone!) could completely remove the albeit clear but greasy residue. Consequently, on opposing sides of each glass are two smeary marks. Steel wool would likely remove them ... them AND the plastic. So, bottom line is, I love 'em but I can't clean 'em!

I really liked the idea of these for use where breakables are not an option. Found they will break if dropped, although not as readily as glass will. Wish they had been sturdier or what is the point of buying them?
